Habitat for Humanity Groundbreaking Ceremony Set for Jones Family

Habitat for Humanity of Grant County Inc. (Habitat) invites the community to participate in a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Jones Family at 3602 S Harmon St in Marion. The groundbreaking will take place at 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 27th. Anyone is welcome to attend.

“This event will incorporate a stud signing event as well, which means that all participants will be able to write a message, scripture, or note to the family on the walls of the home before they are drywalled in. These notes, messages, and scriptures will therefore be hidden in the walls of the home forever, helping to bless the Jones Family for many years to come,” says Brittany Howey, Executive Director at Habitat for Humanity of Grant County.

Zaniethia Jones has been a longtime resident of Grant County. Zaniethia has been a hard worker all of her life and is delighted to come to the Habitat site and join in on building her home with her own hands, “Receiving this Habitat home means everything to me. It means my kids will have somewhere safe to live and a home that is ours. It is what I have been working towards and it means a lot to me that Habitat was willing to give me this hand up.”

Funds for this home have been generously provided by our many sponsors and donors: Auto-Owners Insurance, The Community Foundation of Grant County, First Farmers Bank and Trust, Grant County Rotary Club, Horizon Bank, Huhtamaki, Kingdom Roofing Systems, Marion General Hospital, Meijer, Nicholson Realty, Northwest Bank, Regions Bank, and many other individual donors and those who wish to remain anonymous. There are still sponsorship opportunities if you are interested. Please reach out to the office at (765) 662-1552 with any questions.
